SCUNTHORPE GIG POSTERS
On this page you will find assorted gig posters and flyers, mainly from Scunthorpe and of Scunny 'alternative/ punk bands'. Some of these were created by myself for Queens gigs when Herby was putting bands on, but most were picked up by me over the years, or were collected by Pete Lazenby, who kindly let me have them to put on here. As with the Terminus gig posters, if anyone has anything not on here that they want putting on, please let me know.
Thanks should go to all those involved in organising gigs in Scunthorpe, whether local bands or from farther afield. It was not easy and often a thankless and expensive task.
These include; Herby Weber, Steve Midwinter and Sarah Richardson, Andrew 'Barney' Barnard, Col Spence and Dawn Fidel (all at the Queens Hotel), Ian 'Charlie' Charles at the Crosby, Sean Burkill and Simmo at the Hangar (also in the Crosby), John 'Fully' Fullerton, Claire Benson, Chas Carrol (at The Whistle Test Club, etc), and the various Landlords and Landladies that either put bands on themselves or allowed others to organise gigs through the 1980's and 90's - including: The Lincoln Imp, The Priory, The Brown Cow, The Sherpa, The Furnace Arms (later Bentleys), Jensens (formerly the Bell and Anchor), The Royal Hotel, The Bridge Hotel, The Berkeley Hotel, The Cocked Hat Hotel, The Baths Hall, Enoch Tutties (which in the mid 1980's used to have acoustic acts on, such as the inimitable Steve Womack) and not forgetting the old 'Oswald' on the High Street where I first saw my old guitar teacher, Keith Mullard, play in the early 80's (probably in the rock'n'roll band Red Hot - where Keith skiddied across the dance floor on his knees while playing his Gibson SG behind his head! made me smile then, still makes me smile now).
Apologies to those I have forgotten (drop me a line via the contact page and I will include omitted information).

REVIEW BY THE BAND!
'THE C.D.S. "We could do with an early night" U.K. TOUR 1994'
11th JUNE: SCUNTHORPE
No matter what Dan and Sav say, I didn't think Scunny was that bad. Nobody took the piss out of me when I was walking round the town that night (makes a nice change),
and I could find my way 'round 'cos the streets were all parallel. The Crosby resembled a working mans club or naff bingo hall, but the atmosphere was smashing, as were all the people there (audience and staff). We supported those peculiarities of punkdom, BUGEYED,
fronted by Pig Havoc, who could quite easily give Eck Static (THE FILTH) a run for his money in the mania stakes! A generally enjoyable and surprisingly relaxing gig, although Miranda (R.A. gig merchandise sales and finances) was fair rushed off her feet by the haggling locals. That Night, Dan petrified us with his pasta, while Deek (once of Oi Polloi, now the C.D.S drunken roadie) merely unnerved us with his ginger-ness.'
